Sneak Peek: Shayron & Noel’s Wedding

October 23, 2010

It’s been a busy old weekend. Starting on Friday with Shayron and Noel’s wedding at St Giles Church, Orpington…

Shayron is an old work colleague of mine and I hadn’t spoken to her properly in a good couple of years, so I was a bit shell-shocked when she rang me to ask for a wedding photography quote and then added, “by the way, it’s me who’s getting married!”. I didn’t actually know she had a man in her life!

I didn’t meet Noel until about 30 minutes before he walked up the aisle but he was just as friendly and welcoming as Shayron but incredibly nervous – excited nerves. I’m not sure who was more keen to get married, him or Shayron because she arrived about 10 minutes early!

Shayron is such a sweet-natured person who hasn’t got a bad word to say about anyone (well, perhaps the odd one or two, hey Shayron!!) and is probably known to her friends for being a smiler and a giggler. This can be seen throughout the day’s photos.

She chose to have her son, Ben, give her away – a handsome choice 🙂

I do love a good wedding, especially church ones. Photography is restricted to back of church at St Giles but I’m never too sad about that as it’s such a beautiful, backdrop.  Ben’s girlfriend, Laura, delivered a touching reading; the sort that just leaves you feeling warm and gooey (which is just what one needs on these cold Autumn days!)

I am so pleased that the rain held off for them and that we were able to do outdoor shots without it being wet or too cold.

Neither Noel or Shayron are particularly fond of being in front of the lens but they were patient with me while I encouraged them to relax and ‘enjoy the moment’.

I only had a short time after the ceremony in which to grab some group shots before they all hurried off for their wedding breakfast.

Huge Congratulations, Shayron and Noel. A beautiful ceremony for a beautiful couple. Hope you enjoyed the rest of your day. xx

Shayron forget Mary Poppins & Dorothy – the blushing bride is by far your best look! Noel is a very lucky man and I am sure Audrey will reiterate that on a regular basis.

Just sorry I wasn’t there to share this moment in history!!!!

I look forward to seeing the full portfolio – Shayron you have never looked happier!

Much love & congratulations to you both
