The Friends of St Peter’s Spring Ball

April 12, 2011

This weekend I had the wonderful opportunity to work on my first black tie ball event, in Billericay, Essex. It was organised by Amanda Mills to raise money for ‘The Friend’s Of St Peters’ charity.

Events like this nearly always require two people; one to photograph and one to sell/print photographs on the night. I don’t yet have the equipment to enable me to print on site so I enlisted the help of fellow photographer Russ Harper. I had attended a training course all that day, so I decided to spend the evening mainly sitting down; showing people their photographs and making sales. Russ took all the photographs for me.  Upon arrival guests had 3 shots taken; a full length, mid shot and a close up.

This was a great event. Everyone was glammed up, looking fab-u-lous! They were served welcome drinks before heading to their meal. Evening entertainment consisted of a raffle, an auction, a tribute band and a DJ.

It was a long night, starting for Russ and I at 6pm and working right through til 1am. It was great fun though. Everyone was looking stunning and were good fun to work with. Throughout the night people returned to have their photographs taken with friends. We also took a few table shots.
